Edwardian Jade Ring c.1920
An elegant Edwardian jade ring.
This simple design has a round jade cabochon finely set in a rub over setting within a gold mount. The head leads to a slender gold shank typical of the era.
The jade is a lovely green colour and the ring is beautifully low set to the hand typical of the Edwardian era.
The gemstone is revered in Chinese society where Confucius praised jade as a symbol of righteousness and knowledge. In Chinese culture Jade is customarily thought to influence health and prosperity, and ward off negative energy.
