Victorian Enamel and Rose Diamond Locket c.1880
A beautiful Victorian enamel locket.
The oval locket has both sides covered in a rich blue enamel with a gold star motif to the front set with an oval rose cut diamond. The rose diamond is foiled to the reverse and closed at the back.
The locket has an integral hinge to one side and opens to reveal the original glazed frame compartment designed to hold a lock of hair. The reverse of the 'star' side has its original gilt finish.
The locket is in wonderful condition and has a gold runner ring to the top to allow a chain or ribbon to pass through.
Era: Victorian, 1837 - 1901
