Georgian Memorial Locket Brooch/Pendant c.1834
A wonderful example of a late Georgian memorial locket brooch.
This stylish brooch has a central enamelled cartouch with a diamond set 'forget me not' applied to the centre. This is set within a Rococo design gold border with stylised scallop shells to each end.
The brooch has a locket to the reverse with a woven lock of hair to the inside behind an oval bevelled glass.
The brooch is engraved in script to the reverse "Anne Hawker Ob 13 Oct 1834" it is in beautiful condition.
The brooch has a simple gold sprung pin and a gold runner ring to one end on a fold down loop, perfect for a chain or ribbon so it can also be worn as a pendant.
Era Georgian: 1714 - 1837
Measurements: Brooch 3.3cm in length, 2.6 cm at widest point.
