Georgian Ruby & Pearl Ring c.1810
An elegant Georgian ruby and pearl ring.
This beautiful ring has a central ruby in a cut down setting surrounded with 4 large seed pearls each set with a ruby between in a quatrefoil design.
The ring has intricate detailing with acanthus leaf engraved shoulders and is in beautiful condition. The engraving details are also on the sides of the shank meaning the ring cannot be resized without affecting the original engraving.
The ring would have originally had a locket back to the reverse of the head which has sadly long gone.
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in this wonderful condition are increasingly hard to find.
