Miniature Georgian Scent Bottle c.1800
A beautiful tiny Georgian gold topped pefume flask in its original case.
This wonderful bottle has a rounded stopper with a loop for attaching a chain or ribbon. The flask is cut glass and is in fabulous condition.
Unusually for a piece of this age, the bottle still has its original fitted shagreen case. The green coloured case is lined with a plush velvet and is in remarkable conditon with a hinged lid opened by an integral button.
The perfume bottle was a fashionable statement in the 18th century. It was incredibly practical as being able to quickly douse one’s self in scent or raise the preferred scent to your nose while travelling was often a necessity!
