A great quirky mid century novelty brooch designed as a stylised bird set with a chalcedony (a blue-ish form of quartz) body and a ruby eye.
 
The little bird is wearing shoes and has a really quirky expression typical of the novelty brooches popular in the 1950's and early 1960's.
 
The brooch has a pin fitting and a roller safety catch.
