Regency Turquoise Cluster Ring c.1830
A pretty late Georgian turquoise 'forget me not' ring
This lovely ring has 6 cabochon turquoise stone set around a tiny diamond in a forget me not flower design. The ornate foliate shoulders are each set with three further small turquoise stones onto a slightly tapered shank and sits low to the hand.
There is a space behind the head where there was probably a locket compartment. The forget me not design and the use of turquoise stones was a very typical sentimental Georgian way to remind the wearer of the intentions of the giver.
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces is a dress ring and would not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in this great condition are increasingly hard to find.
