Victorian Diamond Double Heart Brooch c.1890
A beautiful Victorian double witches heart brooch with 2 interlinked hearts each set with old cut diamonds set between a laurel leaf diamond set end and a small natural pearl. The brooch is silver set to the front and gold to the reverse tyocal of the Victorian era.
Witches hearts (a heart that has a 'tail' to one side) were given to protect the wearer from harm and a brooch like this might have been given for a marriage with 2 hearts entwined. The brooch has its original fitted velvet case.
Era: Victorian c.1839 - 1901
Measurements: Brooch 4.2cm in length, 1cm at widest point.
