Victorian Silver & Gold Floral Bangle c.1880
A fabulous Victorian silver and gold floral bangle.
This unusual wide cuff style bangle has 3 rows of delicately overlaid gold flowers set within engraved flower tendrils. There is a rope-twist border to the top and bottom. We believe the flowers are pansies with 5 petals - in the Victorian Language of flowers this represented "think of me"
The bangle is plain on the underside typical of the era and has a hinged section to the middle with a hidden tongue clasp enabling it to be easily worn on the wrist. It has a registered design stamp engraved to one side.
This is one of the lovliest bangles from this era we have ever seen, it has a very contemporary feel despite being over 140 years old and us in wonderful condition.
